• Yesterday, my family and I ate at the Olive Garden in Derby, Ks. The Wait staff and service has improved tremdously since the first month it opened and of course the food is excellent as always. I have to say I was more disappointed in the customers, especially after what I observed. The waitress who waited on us, also waited on a large table with older people. She was not only nice looking, but she was professional and very respectful. She waited on everyone hand and foot. We were very pleased with the service we recieved. Then while we were having our desert, we noticed the large table got up to leave, we overheard them saying to only leave the waitress a 5 dollar tip. I was mortified!, no I take that back, I was pissed off! I know damn well their food bill cost more than our bill. Seriously people, stop behaving so mean! If you cannot be gracious enough to tip 18 to 20 percent of the total cost of your meal, then you have no business dining out. I don't care if your on a fixed income or not! Or if your just being a total jerk. You have no business dining out except at McDonalds! The waiters and waitresses make less than minimum wage per hour, they depend on their tips to pay their bills just like you and me. We felt really bad for the waitress so as we paid our bill, we gave the waitress an extra 20 dollar tip for waiting on those old cheapscapes. I think Olive Garden should start adding gratuity to the customers bill. It's people like that who I'd like to see banned from resturants!
