• I asked a Teller what was the reason for the closings, and the response to that was that the lease was up and it was Walmart's decision NOT TO RENEW the bank's lease. So we can basically thank Walmart for all the bank's in-store branch closings. I used to shop at Walmart just because I was already there depositing my check at Admirals Bank. I will now only be shopping at Walmart if they're the ones offering competitive pricing, since I will no longer just be there. WALMART IS NO LONGER THE KING OF RETAIL because lately Kmart and Target are actually offering more competitive prices than Walmart.

• I spoke to a Teller and asked if the proposed location of the New Providence branch expected to open at the end of 2012 was known. It was indicated to me that the location would be somewhere near or across from the Providence Place Mall in downtown Providence. This bank is going to definitely experience a large amount of customers closing their accounts and taking their business elsewhere. I know I'm going to be one of them, as I don't do any type of business downtown with the traffic and parking problems. I thing this is the worst place to choose for a bank location, specially when they're only going to have two locations in RI. They already have the main branch in Cranston, and the other location expected to open in Providence should have plenty of free parking and easy access to it's customers.

• I opened an Advantage Checking Account at an ADMIRAL's Bank, at a nearby Walmart in-store branch in RI just at the beginning of the year January 2012. It's now February 29, 2012 and I receive a letter in the mail stating that they will be CLOSING ALL RI branches, except for their main bank location on 815 Reservoir Ave. Cranston, RI. Those branches are the in-store Walmart branches located in Providence, Warwick Mall, North Kingstown, Coventry and Northbridge, MA; and the in-store Shaws branch in Woonsocket, RI. One reason I opened an acct there was the closeness to my home, and the fact that their branches happened to be located inside Walmart stores, where I do most of my shopping anyway. NOW, the ONE and ONLY location nearby is going to be miles far and away from where I'm acostumed to do business and into this small building where they have their main branch, with very limited banking hours and an extremely limited amount of parking spaces. When I opened the account they didn't mention any closings. Had I known of these changes before I opened the account rest assured I WOULDN'T have even bothered ordering checks for my checking account. Actually I wouldn't have bothered opening any account with them AT ALL. I'm sure these changes are going to cost them a hefty amount of customers that are simply going to take their business elsewhere.
